New Zealand’s electric vehicle to public charger ratio among highest in the world

A recent report suggests that New Zealand has seen a decline in public charger installations over the last couple of years. In 2023 the country had a public charger for every 95 EVs in the country. At end of 2025, that number improved marginally to 90 EVs per public charger. Lobby groups like Drive Electric feels high capital costs and lack of adequate public charging infrastructure are two major hurdles for EV adoption in New Zealand. (Image source: IEA)

Millennials are driving Australia’s EV growth

According to a survey by auto insurance provider ROLLiN’, more than 60% of drivers aged between 30 and 45 thought their next car would be electric, mainly taking into account the rising cost of fuel. A third of all Aussies now consider EVs as a viable option for their next car.

Thailand to heavily incentivise domestic production of EVs

Geely joins BYD and CATL in offering ultra fast EV charging

Last week Geely which is now the world’s third largest electric vehicle maker owning brands like Zeekr and Polestar recently demonstrated their ability to supercharge a EV battery from 10% to 70% under 5 minutes. Earlier this year, BYD and CATL showcased their battery tech that achieved similar feats. Chinese electric car makers can now claim EVs can be charged as fast as fuelling up a petrol or diesel car.
